High School Veterinary Career Exploration Program

Learn More About Becoming a Veterinarian!

vet animals

The Veterinary Medical Association of New York City (VMA of NYC) would like to encourage the youth of New York City to consider a career in the Veterinary Medicine field. High school students and parents are encouraged to attend a series of meetings as an introduction to veterinary medicine, veterinary school and different veterinary career paths.

The High School Veterinary Career Exploration Program will consist of three evening meetings with two guest speakers each night. The speakers will explore different aspects of veterinary medicine and share their personal stories about their specific career path. This year, speakers will include: Dr. Brooke Britton, medical oncologist at BluePearl Veterinary Partners; Dr. Taryn Donovan, veterinary pathologist at The Animal Medical Center; Ricardo Pacova, LVT at LIC Veterinary Center; Dr. John Sykes, associate veterinarian at the Bronx Zoo; and others.

Applicants who attend all three meetings will receive a Certificate of Completion.

This exciting opportunity is available for High School students interested in Veterinary Medicine.
